Garching, Germany – Erol Kirilmaz (46) has been appointed new Managing Director of LEDVANCE by the Board, effective immediately. Erol Kirilmaz is responsible for sales and marketing, a department that was not previously represented at management level. With this step, the supervisory board strengthens the customer perspective for the continuous transformation of LEDVANCE on its way to becoming one of the world's leading companies in LED general lighting.


Since ZigBee functionality is already integrated in Amazon Echo Plus, users can directly connect Smart+ products to this Amazon system without the need for an additional gateway.

Since September 2017, Smart+ has been the name for LEDVANCE’s entire new generation of smart lighting products for end users. These replace the products, which LEDVANCE had previously marketed under the name of Lightify. At Light + Building, the leading LED lighting company will showcase the latest members of its intelligent Smart+ product family. LEDVANCE will introduce both a greatly extended, dedicated ZigBee portfolio – using the Zigbee 3.0 wireless standard – and also innovations specifically for Apple HomeKit. Assistants such as Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri allow easy control of the products via voice commands – and in the case of Apple and Amazon without the need for additional gateways.
