a) Auto scan mode
A new sensor is in fast-flashing mode (previously known as EZ mode and hereafter referred as fast-flashing mode) when you switch it on, flashing around twice per second. To connect it, tap “+” button on the particular home screen page where you want to add the device, and then select “Add device”. Now press the button “Start automatic search” shown on the screen. The next screen will show the devices that are available in the network. You can select and add the devices shown individually by tapping the “Add” button. Alternatively, for complete integration, you can also select the “Add all” button shown at the top of the list. In the next screen, select the WiFi router with 2.4 GHz network and enter the corresponding password with which you want to connect your devices. If you have multiple WiFi routers at your home, then you can select the WiFi from “Change WiFi network” as well. After a device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “The device is successfully added”.
b) Manual adding mode
If you cannot find the desired sensor with the above-mentioned steps, then you can also add the device manually with “Add manually” button mentioned at the bottom of the screen.
To do this, set the sensor to fast-flashing mode if it has not already been set. Now select the device category tab “WiFi devices”. Then select the category “Others”. In the next screen, select the wi-fi router with 2.4 GHz network and enter the corresponding password with which you want to connect your devices. If you have multiple wi-fi routers at your home, then you can select the wi-fi from “Change WiFi network” as well. Now power on the device. Select the option of fast flashing, if the device is flashing around twice per second, if not then select slow flashing for a flashing around once per two seconds. For fast flashing, in the next step, a search will be carried out for the nearby devices. After the device is found, then it will be registered on the cloud, and it will be initialized. After a device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “The device is successfully added”. If connection isn’t possible in fast-flashing mode, you can try establishing a connection in slow-flashing mode (previously known as ap mode and hereafter referred as slow-flashing mode). For slow flashing, you need to connect your smartphone with the device hotspot. You are now requested to connect the smartphone to the hotspot (LDV SMART+-xxxx) provided by the sensor. After tapping on "connect with hotspot", the WiFi of the smartphone must be connected to the hotspot (LDV SMART+-xxxx) of the sensor via the WiFi settings of the smartphone, you need to now confirm with the “yes” button that the connection was successful. In the next step, a search will be carried out for that device. After the device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “the device is successfully added”.
Some sensors can be switched from fast-flashing mode to slow-flashing mode or vice-versa by pressing and holding the reset button on the sensor for 5 seconds. Some sensors can be added in Auto Scan Mode and Hotspot mode in parallel, when they are set in pairing mode. In the app as well, the “pairing mode” can be switched accordingly by tapping the “change adding mode” button.
c) Product functions for a SMART+ motion sensor
To use the motion sensor, an automation must be created that links a sensor event (e.g., motion detected) with a device action (e.g., switch on lamp/luminaire). This can be created by tapping the “Add routine” button under the home screen.
Tap one of the sensor icons to display the device screen to control its functions. Different functions are displayed depending on the model and respective features of the sensor.
- Motion detected: to display whether a motion has been detected or not.
- PIR Sensitivity: Change the sensitivity of the Sensor.
- PIR Delay: Set the time as to how long the sensor will stay at status “Motion detected” before going back to the status “No motion detected”.
- History: to view the logs of the detections by the sensor for the last 7 days.
- Routines: to add/view the automated routines linked with the sensor.
d) Product functions for a SMART+ contact sensor
To use the contact sensor, an automation must be created that links a sensor event (e.g., door open/closed) with a device action (e.g., switch on lamp/luminaire). This can be created by tapping the “Add routine” button under the home screen.

- Contact sensor: to display whether the contacts are open or closed.
- History: to view the logs of the detections by the sensor for the last 7 days.
- Routines: to add/view the automated routines linked with the sensor.
e) Product functions for a SMART+ water detector
To use the water detector, you can use the notification when water is detected by activating this in the settings. Furthermore, you can trigger a device action (e.g., switch on lamp/luminaire) by creating an automation that links a sensor event (e.g., Water Alarm/Normal). This can be created by tapping the “Add routine” button under the home screen.

f) Product functions for a SMART+ smoke detector
To use the smoke detector, you can use the notification when smoke is detected by activating this in the settings. Furthermore, you can trigger a device action (e.g., switch on lamp/luminaire) by creating an automation that links a sensor event (e.g., Smoke Alarm/Normal). g) Product functions for a SMART+ CO detector
To use the carbon monoxide detector, you can use the notification when carbon monoxide is detected by activating this in the settings. Furthermore, you can trigger a device action (e.g., switch on lamp/luminaire) by creating an automation that links a sensor event (e.g., CO Alarm/Normal).
