There are 2 different models of SMART+ WiFi remote controllers. A remote controller with which lamps/luminaires can be switched on and off and dimmed (item number 4058075526938) and an extended remote controller with which, in addition, the colour and colour temperature of the white light can be set for lamps/luminaires suitable for this purpose (item number 4058075570917). On the extended remote control there are another 4 buttons to store and recall scenes and another 2 buttons a and b to control 2 groups of devices separately.
Note: If a SMART+ WiFi product contains its own infrared remote control, then this product is not compatible with the above-mentioned SMART+ WiFi remote controllers.
a) Connecting a device (lamp/luminaire/plug) to the remote controller
The device that needs to be connected to the remote control, must already be integrated in the LEDVANCE SMART+ app. For the remote controllers, a maximum of 15 devices can be connected. This SMART+ device must now be briefly disconnected from the power and reconnected to the power. With the extended remote control, select the desired group (a or b). Currently, SMART+ plugs can only be added for group a. The next step is to press and hold the ON button for 5 seconds. The signal led of the remote control will then start flashing and establish a connection with the device to be controlled, which will acknowledge the successful pairing process by flashing three times. If another device is to be connected, you can repeat the same process.
b) Disconnecting the devices from the remote controller
In case of the extended remote control, select the desired group (a or b). In the next step, press and hold the off button for 5 seconds. The remote control acknowledges the disconnection process by flashing.
c) Dimming
With the extended remote controller, select the desired group (a or b). Now you can dim the lamp/luminaire by the rocker key. The brightness can be reduced with the left button and increased with the right button.
d) Setting the colour temperature
This is only possible with the extended remote controller. First select the desired group (a or b). The colour temperature is set with the 4-way rocker switch. The left button takes you towards the warmer colour temperatures and the right button takes you towards the cooler colour temperatures.
e) Setting the colour
This is only possible with the extended remote controller. First select the desired group (a or b). The top and bottom buttons of the 4-way rocker switch can be used to select colours for the lamp/luminaire.
f) Saving and calling up scenes
This is only possible with the extended remote control. First select the desired group (a or b). The 4 scene buttons correspond to 4 standard scenes from the LEDVANCE SMART+ app. If you want to save the current settings of the devices connected to the remote control as a scene, select one of the 4 scene buttons and hold it down for 5 seconds. The remote control acknowledges the saving process by flashing. Corresponding scenes in the LEDVANCE SMART+ app are not changed by this process. You can use a scene by pressing the corresponding scene button.
The remote control also needs the WiFi router and the connection to the cloud, but it communicates directly with the device to be controlled remotely and otherwise works independently of the app. The remote control therefore only works up to approx. 12m from the device. It may appear in the device list of the LEDVANCE SMART+ app. No new settings can be created here. Deleting the remote control from the device list of the wifi app could mean that the devices connected to the remote control can no longer be controlled via the remote control.
For lamps/luminaires, there is an icon in the control menu that represents a remote control. By tapping on this icon, the remote-control function of the respective device can be deactivated or activated. The remote-control function is activated by default.
